Profile

Dr. Sanghoon Jheon is the Founding President of the ATA. He is also the Founder and Visionary behind other medtech digital platforms like the Health on Cloud, and the Smart Hospital Alliance. These platforms were founded to leverage cutting-edge technology to improve healthcare worldwide through high-quality education and knowledge-sharing.

Dr. Jheon was the key Founding Leader for the education programme for young thoracic surgeons, the “Asia Thoracoscopic Surgery Education Platform (ATEP)” in 2011. The ATEP has been hosting educational workshops on advanced VATS techniques, international scientific conferences and outreach programs for developing countries.

Dr. Jheon has held the position of professor at the Seoul National University Bundang Hospital since 2003.

Dr. Jheon is currently the Chair Professor of the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at Seoul National University College of Medicine, and he also serves as the president and CEO of Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. He also holds positions on several editorial boards and has served as a reviewer for numerous scientific journals. He is one of the founders of the Asian Thoracic Surgical Club and currently serves as the president of the Korean Society for Thoracic Surgical Oncology.
